LT Robert Matheny, USN

LT Bob Matheny originally from Bolivar, NY perished while flying an F-14 in a training accident in 1988. Bob was a stalwart fullback on the 1980 and 1981 teams, known for his stellar defense, ability to strike with the ball in hand and unmatched kicking abilities. Bob was an on-field leader and highly respected teammate who left a lasting impression on generations to follow. Throughout his Naval Career, Bob was extremely involved in community youth sports. The cities of Virginia Beach and Pensacola both publicly recognized Bob for his contributions to youth sports.
